Fiesta Party - Cinco de Mayo

Our friends at Party City sent us some Fiesta party supplies for our real Cinco de Mayo party next weekend but since my family loves Mexican food, I decided to do a small Cinco de Mayo photo shoot to inspire my readers to create their own Fiesta Bash!
I used my raffia fence that I got at Home Depot as a backdrop and added the Cinco de Mayo sign and the Fiesta Paper Fans to it. I also added a plastic bunting on top of the raffia fence. The bunting is part of the Giant Fiesta Decorating kit. I am planning on using the rest of the kit on our real party on May 3rd. To bring color to our table, I used a Serape as table runner on top of the avocado tablecloth. As for props, I used the Mexican Sombrero as centerpiece, fiesta maracas, Fiesta accessory kit(mini sombrero, mustache and margarita glasses), red peppers and mini cactus.
The food was simple since it was just for my family. We had tacos, a vegetable platter, Spanish rice, Tortillas, cheese dip and salsa. I served the toppings inside these cute Chili Pepper bowls.
Party city has a  great selection of Fiesta Drinkware, I love the Serape Bottle Cozy! So cute!! How about the SeƱorita Needs Another Margarita Beverage Napkins? Love it!! And don't forget to have some Fiesta Margarita Glasses to add a festive look to your Drink Station!
We made little cactus treats using store bought  mini brownies turned upside down and added a little bit of green icing, placed them inside mini cupcake liners and placed them inside little terra-cotta vases to look like mini cactus.

I found some Mexican candy and beverages at my local Walmart. I also made Flan and served it inside Mini Margarita Glasses. As for favors, our guests will receive Streamer Strings, Glow int the Dark Necklaces, Fiesta Body Jewelry and Fiesta Necklaces upon arrival for extra fun!.

I will add more photos to this post once we have our Cinco de Mayo party next weekend!

Rio 2 Inspired Party - It's on in the Amazon!

I was thrilled when my daughter decided to have a Rio 2 Party! I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and we were stationed in Brasilia, Brazil from 2006 to 2010. We were able to visit the Amazon Rainforest before we moved back to the States in 2010, so you can imagine my excitement to create this party!
I want to create a Rainforest feeling in our backyard  by adding elements found in the Rainforest. I was lucky enough to purchase various items from the Amazon tribes during our visit but most of the decorations are from Party City, Home Depot(straw fence for the backdrop), Michaels and my own backyard. I also contacted Bird from Bird's Party and she created a super cute printable set inspired by the movie!
Our guests enjoyed Morpho Butterflies(blue jelly beans and blue mini gumballs), Jaguar Tails(Cheetos), Anteater food(chocolate covered raisins), Bird Seeds(jelly beans), Rainforest Vines(green licorice), Beetle Wings(chocolate covered pretzels), Macaw snacks(trial mix), Tropical delights(candy fruit), Vegetable Platter, Fruits, Rainforest Water and Tropical Punch.  I served some of the goodies inside cute coconut cups and on top of wooden trays that I found at Michaels.
The girls took home tubes of mini gumballs dressed up using Bird's Party Rio 2 Printables. The printable set also comes with some cut outs inspired by the movie. I used the blue bird to decorate the pineapple that I made by adding yellow gumball to a vase and added some green twisty pops wrapped on green tissue paper to the top.

I set up the girls table by using my ottoman covered with an avocado tablecloth and used my Orchidea arrangement as centerpiece. I mixed and match the tableware items from Party City to create a colorful setting for the girls to enjoy their healthy treats before we went to the movies. The girls sipped Tropical Punch on their Pineapple and Coconut cups.

The Drink Station displayed some of my findings while we visited Manaus, Amazon.
As favors, the girls took home cute stuffed animals that live in the Amazon.
After the movies, the girls came back to our house for ice cream cake and sweets!
I loved the movie so much since we were able to recognize some places that we were able to visit while we lived in Brazil! And guess what? We are moving back to Brazil this August! I am over the moon with excitement!
